Catching up is so very hard to do! (Weeks 4, 5 and 6)

Life happens, that's my excuse.   It's been a couple of weeks since I've had a chance to catch up on my 23Things assignments but luckily, some of the 'things' are familiar to me.  The most challenging thing this time is trying to remember old passwords for Pinterest, and so on...

I will focus on the assignments for now, let's see how this works.

It's been so busy at the Circ Desk over the past few weeks:  staff absences, etc has cut down the available manpower while weather and school interruptions has given us a slew of extra people in the library.    Wikipedia Commons has found the ideal image to help me illustrate my state of mind over this period, actually I envy this owl: how can he manage to look so calm and steady and still manage to balance himself on one leg?

The next exercise was to use image generators.  I used Wordle to create a readalike image for fans of Philippa Gregory's fiction.  I ran into problems trying to link it to this blog, but if you want to have a look at the finished result, here's the link:

The next idea was to share a meme I created at Cheezburger.com using a picture of my cat Patches.  When I tried to link, the site seemed unavailable.  Will try again later, or post it another time. 



The next exercise featured Pinterest, a site I've done a bit of dabbling with over the past couple of years.   I've created board for some of my favourite stuff like 'Game of Thrones' images, Erin Hunter's books, Historical Fiction and adult fiction featuring animals (Story of Edgar Sawtelle, etc).  Of course, I also have a recipe board (recipes seem to be VERY popular on Pinterest.  I think I will keep this one current and add recipes that are shared with me and some that I have and want to share with others.     If you'd like to check my pins, go to: http://www.pinterest.com/jogalettes/

So, in hindsight, I really didn't rock the blog world with this entry, in fact I barely made it through.   I will work on the image generators and such and I've got some great ideas for using Pinterest, so there!
